What a month we have had! Games at Stockton, Concord, San Jose, Hayward! We won some and we lost some games. But the girls had fun. Our 10’s and 12’s were split up quite a bit over this last month, but this weekend’s games were great. Our 10’s,12’s and 14’s were all at the same location. It was great to have had the opportunity to watch bits and pieces of both kids games and the 14’s this weekend.
Hayward was a pleasant change compared to hot Stockton. The weather was great and cool for softball games, but the parents were freezing of course. It was great today to see all 3 age groups to come to the championship games. Out of the 4 fields, 3 were completely covered with red since our team jersey was red today. While the 14’s won the game with ease, the 12’s and 10’s lost. But every lost game is great learning opportunity for the girls.
At one point we had 2 of our 12 U teams playing each other and it was really fun to watch. My husband got me a Fitbit for mother’s day and I noticed my heart rate monitor was 101 bpm at one point when my daughter was up to bat. Never knew watching my kids games would be equivalent to a brisk walk. Later on when she was pitching, I noticed my monitor again and now, the heart rate was flat. No, I hadn’t died of heart attack, my fitbit was malfunctioning since it got stuck to my wrist from sweat and sunscreen. I had to loosen it before it started working again. But we had a good laugh about it.
I couldn’t be happier this weekend, both my girls got to pitch and they did well considering my 13 year old coming back to pitching after the little leaguer’s shoulder was a great feeling. She almost took a year off from pitching. Parents from both our team and other team came and told them that they pitched well.
Thanks Coaches! and enjoy the weekend off.
